Cyanotype
This is an early photographic process popular with botanists and architects in Victorian England. The process involves mixing two chemicals and water which then become photosensitive. The paper is coated and dried in the dark before. Botanicals are carefully arranged before being exposed to sunlight. The print is then given a water bath where it magically turns from a silvery grey to Prussian blue. The nature of this process means that even when the same plant material is used each print is absolutely unique.
Botanicals
All flora has been collected responsibly by me, most of it I have grown organically in my home garden and allotment. My aim is to tread lightly upon the earth, preserving nature, our greatest treasure.
Paper
Printed on handmade, recycled, cotton rag paper which is acid free and of archival quality.
Care
Keep out of direct sunlight. If, over time, your print has faded, remove it to a dark place for up to two weeks and as if by magic it will be restored to the original blue.
