We are a London based florist that creates seasonal and sustainable flowers for weddings, events, installations and corporate contracts. We absolutely hate wastage so press flowers that come back from our events and turn them into long lasting pressed flower art and stationery.
Flower and Press was founded by Izzi Hudson in 2016. Our philosophy is simple. To make splendid designs that show off the natural beauty of flowers, whilst also respecting and protecting the environment from which they come.
Flower & Press creates luxurious floral designs for all occasions, both within London and further afield. We supply flowers for weddings, events, installations and a number of regular contracts for both corporate and private clients. Our designs change with the seasons and we love the changing colour palettes and textures that each season brings. We always try to recommend British flowers first and work with amazing growers here in the UK. In winter months, when we may need to source flowers from further afield, we use only fair trade and ethically sourced growers.
We expanded into pressed flower art works whilst trying to address a more sustainable practice of floristry. We are absolutely determined to maximise the useful life of flowers and press flowers to extend their beauty, so that they can live on and bring us joy for many years to come.
Creating long lasting floral artworks has become one of our favourite parts of our business and we make up a number of bespoke commissions, as well as creating pieces to sell via our web shop. These are regularly updated and include pressed flower art pieces and stationery.
We want to be as transparent as possible with the actions we are taking to make our business more sustainable. We are constantly learning and changing the way we do things to reflect this.
The steps we are taking:
- Looking hard at our supply chain and making sure the suppliers we work with have similar values
- How and where we source our flowers
- How we create our designs
- Quoting for long lasting designs
- Pressing flowers
- Using FSC approved suppliers that use managed forests or recycled materials
